Getting started on the Computational Grid

From BeSTGRID

Jump to: navigation, search

To get started using the computational grid using Grisu, one only needs to:

  1. Get a grid identity (an X509 certificate or a SLCS certificate)
  2. Register in a Virtual Organization (such as /ARCS/BeSTGRID) to get access to Resources
  3. Start Grisu

[edit] Get a Grid Identity

If you have an account at an institution with a Shibboleth IdP registered with the SLCS server (like the Univeristy of Canterbury), just login to: https://slcs1.arcs.org.au/SLCS/login and confirm any attribute release if asked to do so.

If you don't have a Shibboleth account, register for one at https://idp.arcs.org.au/idp_reg/ and then login to https://slcs1.arcs.org.au/SLCS/login

After logging in, you should see an XML response where the second line says:
<Status>Success</Status>

This gets you going - and see the page on Using SLCS certificates at University of Canterbury for more information and troubleshooting.
